1 lb ground sirloin
3/4 cup diced onion
1/3 cup chopped green bell pepper
2 cups tomato sauce (no-salt-added, 100% tomato variety)
2 T tomato paste
2 T yellow mustard
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp sugar
1 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/8 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1/4 tsp kosher salt


Heat a large skillet and brown ground beef to an internal temperature of 160° F on a meat thermometer. Stir in vegetables, tomato sauce and tomato paste. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add mustard, Worcestershire sauce, sugar and all spices. Stir. Cover mixture and allow to simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve 1/4 cup of beef mixture on medium whole-wheat rolls.
